UK 2 Africa Exports has reaffirmed its commitment to corporate social responsibility after donating wheelchairs to the Wheels of Hope Initiative, a community-driven programme championed by popular Zimbabwean social figure Tongai Gwaze, affectionately known by his legion of supporters as “Greatman.”
The donation forms part of the company’s ongoing mission to support vulnerable and disadvantaged members of society through meaningful humanitarian initiatives. The wheelchairs were officially received by Tongai Gwaze, who continues to travel across the breadth and length of Zimbabwe delivering wheelchairs and mobility assistance to communities in need.
UK 2 Africa Exports is a leading sea and air freight shipping company connecting the African diaspora with the mother continent of Africa. The company specialises in shipping and sourcing vehicles, machinery, medical equipment, gadgets, furniture, household goods, vehicle parts, and spare parts to various destinations across Africa.
The donation comes at a time when the Wheels of Hope Initiative continues to gain national recognition for its efforts in assisting people living with disabilities. Prior to this contribution by UK 2 Africa Exports, His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, also donated a Mahindra truck to the initiative — a gesture widely regarded as a strong endorsement of programmes aimed at uplifting disadvantaged members of society.
Speaking on behalf of UK 2 Africa Exports, the company’s CEO Donald Raisi said the organisation remains committed to supporting the disabled community and humanitarian causes throughout Zimbabwe.
“We will continue to support and assist members of the disabled community. To us, this is more than just corporate responsibility — we are a caring organisation that believes in advancing the causes of humanity. We will reach out to many of our partners to secure more wheelchairs, mobility equipment, medical equipment, books, clothing, school supplies, assistive devices, and other essential items for donation to various communities across the country,” said Raisi.
The company also encouraged corporates within the diaspora community to partner with organisations and initiatives that are transforming lives on the ground.
Through partnerships such as the Wheels of Hope Initiative, UK 2 Africa Exports says it aims to continue playing a meaningful role in improving the lives of vulnerable individuals and strengthening communities across Zimbabwe and the African continent.
As humanitarian needs continue to grow, the collaboration between private sector organisations, community initiatives, and government support remains critical in ensuring that no member of society is left behind.
